North Korean Foreign Minister Choe Son-hui has replied to the joint statement published at the end of the recent G7 Foreign Affairs meeting with an editorial published by the agency KCNA in which he ensures that His country’s status as a nuclear state is “undeniable”as well as “final and irreversible”.

Choe has thus responded to published document last Tuesday at the end of the meeting of foreign ministers held in Karuizawa (Japan) in which Pyongyang was urged to abandon its weapons program and it is stated that “North Korea cannot and will never obtain nuclear-weapon State status under the Non-Proliferation Treaty (NPT)”.

“The position of the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea (DPRK, official name of the country) as Nuclear-armed state will remain an undeniable reality and it doesn’t matter if the US and the West don’t recognize it for a hundred or a thousand years,” Choe wrote.

Choe has said that the G7 is “a selfish bunch of countries that do not represent the international community and that it serves as a political tool to ensure US hegemony”, and considered that “it is anachronistic to think that the right and ability to carry out a nuclear attack is exclusive to Washington”.

The North Korean foreign minister has stated that the development of a nuclear program in North Korea “constitutes a just exercise of its sovereignty to deter the threat posed by the volatile security environment brought about by reckless and provocative military maneuvers by the US and its allies”.

Since Seoul and Washington began their spring exercises in March with the presence of US strategic assets such as aircraft carriers or bombers, Pyongyang has responded with a dozen weapons tests, including the launch of its most sophisticated intercontinental ballistic missile to date. , held on April 13.

“The US must keep in mind that its security can only be guaranteed when it completely eliminates its hostile policy towards the DPRK“, added Choe and ensured that the status of his country as “world-class nuclear power is final and irreversible.”
