“Adrenaline. My untold stories “, the volume by Ibrahimovic written with Luigi Garlando (Cairo publisher), conquers the top: it is the best-selling book in Italy
Winning, however Zlatan Ibrahimovic, it is a natural condition. Now, at the age of 40, the AC Milan striker is giving himself another peak: that of the best-selling books in Italy, with his Adrenalina. My untold stories, written together with Luigi Garlando, signature of the “Gazzetta dello Sport”, and recently published by Cairo publisher (the sales rankings are elaborated by GfK Italia and will be available on “la Lettura” # 525, Saturday 18 December in preview in the App and Sunday 19 at newsstands).
This time Ibra did not dribble a defender, he did not soar above everyone in the penalty area but he overcame a heavyweight of literature such as Ken Follett, the best-selling comic by Zerocalcare and of two the new thriller by Donato Carrisi, another bestseller of race.
A different book than the previous ones – Me, Ibra, written with David Lagercrantz (2011) e I am football, with Mats Olsson (2018, both Rizzoli) – because this time, for Ibrahimovic, it’s time to take stock and not just to celebrate. That it is different can be understood from the first words, a little unsettling: «Ok, I give up. I’m forty years old”. Even if a little below he corrects his shot, putting on the clothes of the cheeky provocateur / motivator: «I am a god, but an aging god». The title Adrenalin, he writes, “it is the key word of my life”. Each chapter, ten in all, plus an introduction (“pre-game”) and conclusions (“extra time”), “starts from field stories and ends with reflections on everyday life”.
