PORTRAIT – Fiercely opposed to pesticides, the co-founder of the agricultural start-up Futura Gaïa, a rotating geoponic farm that allows plants to grow without chemicals and with great water savings, is attacked by the Confédération paysanne du Gard which denounces a “inhuman technique”.

Pascal Thomas, co-founder with Nicolas Ceccaldi of the Gard start-up Futura Gaïa, a vertical farm where aromatic plants, salads, tomatoes and strawberries grow all year round, will never forget April 15, 2023. This day- there, at the call of the Confédération paysanne du Gard, around a hundred people demonstrated in front of his home, at the Mas de Polvelière, in Rodilhan, where his research and development site is also located, to refuse “energy-intensive agriculture, deterritorialized, without living beings and without peasants” and denounce “one more step in the enslavement of our food to finance”.
