Burma, security forces shoot demonstrators: 5 dead

In Burma, where new demonstrations against the coup were held today, security forces fired on demonstrators in various places, killing at least five people, according to local and international media. According to the Myanmar Now news site, two protesters died in the town of Wetlet, two others in different places in Shan state, and one – reports the Kachin News Group – in the mining town of Hpakant. The Irrawaddy news site posted a photograph of a security officer
