After 29 days of deprivation of food and water from sunrise to sunset, devotion and multiplication of prayers, the Muslim faithful celebrated this Friday, April 21, 2023, the great feast of Aid El Fitr or feast of Ramadan.
On this occasion, the President of the Republic, HE Mohamed Bazoum took part in the Salat Aïd, the collective prayer of the faithful which was held at the great mosque of Niamey. The main authorities of Niger, as well as a crowd of local residents also came to fulfill this religious obligation of Islam.
After the collective prayer, President Mohamed Bazoum, surrounded by the 1st Vice-President of the National Assembly, the Honorable Kalla Ankourao, and the Acting Prime Minister, HE Hassoumi Massoudou, received the wishes of a happy birthday from the former President Issoufou Mahamadou, members of the government and institutions of the Republic, and the diplomatic corps accredited to Niger.
