The Galician Council requests very precautionary measures with the intention that the plan be suspended while the Justice does not decide

He Superior Court of Justice of Galicia (TSXG) has admitted to process the appeal of the medical colleges against the new Sergas primary care appointment system, known as the XIDE plan (comprehensive team demand management). As a result of this admission to process, the Galician Council of Medical Colleges has submitted a request for very precautionary measures before the Galician high court. What the schools want with this request is that the plan be suspended as long as the Court does not rule on the appeal.

The appointment system is already being applied in primary care to guide patients who come to make an appointment based on their situation. For medical colleges, the XIDE In his opinion, it implies the application of a triage system in health centers and the use of an artificial intelligence algorithm to manage unscheduled appointments. They consider that not only does it not solve the saturation problems suffered by primary care, but it also poses a risk for both patients and non-healthcare personnel who care for them.

Doubts about the new model for appointments in health centers: What kind of consultation do they give me if I don’t want to explain the reason? And if I call on the phone?

Four months ago, the TSXG annulled the Sergas instruction that allowed pharmacists to renew prescriptions for chronically ill patients, also in response to another appeal from the Galician Council of Medical Associations. In this case, although the Superior Court ruled in favor of the doctors, when appealing the sergas, the sentence was not executed; Hence, in the face of this new resource, the medical colleges have decided to request the adoption of extremely precautionary measures.
