PSG Stal Nysa and Indykpol AZS Olsztyn are the teams that after the end of the main phase were in the eighth and seventh place in the table, respectively, thanks to which they had a chance to play in the quarter-final matches. Both teams in the 1/4 finals, however, dropped out of the further fight for medals and will face each other in the aggregate for the seventh place at the end of the season.
During the first clash in Nysa, the coach of the guests, Javier Weber, from the very beginning bet on the reserve players, who made as many as nine mistakes in the premiere and had to recognize the superiority of the hosts. Indykpol’s substitutes in the second set presented themselves much better, mainly improving the accuracy of the reception (from 43 percent to 53 percent) and avoiding their own mistakes. On the other side of the net, Kamil Kwasowski was great in Friday’s match, not only scoring high in attack, but also scoring in the block and on the service. The leader of PSG Steel, after a four-set victory, won the MVP statuette, ending his performance with 19 points on his account.
The second meeting of the competition for the seventh place along with the possible golden set will take place on Monday in Iława.
