Pastor Silas Malafaia’s criticism of Bishop Sonia’s statements bothered the daughter of Renascer Church leader Fernanda Hernandes, who said that the assembly leader does not reflect “the love of Jesus”.

“Who died on the cross was Christ. For all of us! I don’t see in Silas Malafaia’s attitude the love of Jesus Christ. My mother, Bishop Soniataught me the true gospel that I live and preach, and the greatest commandment remains: we love one another”, wrote Fernanda Hernandes in the comment of a post on Instagram.

Fernanda’s statement had repercussions on social networks, and Pastor Silas Malafaia responded by stating that this type of speech is characteristic of the “counterfeiters” of the Gospel.

“Denouncing sin has now become hate speech. Only if it goes to the counterfeiters of the Word, as Paul denounces in 2 Corinthians 2:17 and 2 Corinthians 4:2. The God of love – because no one has the same love as God – will put people in hell”, introduced Malafaia in a video.

“Are we going to the golden text of the Bible, the words of Jesus, for us to understand? John 3: 16,17: ‘For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. God sent His Son into the world not to condemn the world, but that the world might be saved through Him.’ Now, look at the conclusion: whoever believes in Him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe is already condemned”, he added.

The pastor pondered that “the theology of sin” is something widely established in the Scriptures and in the doctrines of churches that remain faithful to the Bible: “You mean that saying that those who do not believe in Jesus will go to hell is hate speech? Is it lack of love? […] Has denouncing sin become hate speech? Only for the forger of the Word. Honey, there are only two kingdoms: the kingdom of God and the kingdom of the devil. You can’t stay on top of the wall.”

“I don’t judge anyone, and I don’t put anyone in heaven or hell. But I denounce sin. It means, then, that if you preach that adulterers go to hell; those who live in prostitution go to hell; whoever steals, cheats, goes to hell; homosexuality goes to hell, is it hate speech?
