True to the motto “from Grafenwald for Grafenwald”, the non-profit association Kleine Karnevalgesellschaft Grafenwald (2K2G) organizes tent events for carnival every two years. The members regularly donate the money that the association earns through activities of this kind to local institutions. “Now it was time again and we emptied our cash register,” says carnivalist Magnus Thesing.
Overall, Chairman Andreas Fockenberg recently handed over three checks, each with a value of 2,000 euros. The Friends of the Grafenwald Primary School, the Friends of the Holy Family Kindergarten and the Ernst-Wilm-Haus were particularly pleased. “It is always important to us to do something good for the people here,” explains the carnival enthusiast.
Even if the club has lost almost half of its members in the past three years, it won’t let it get you down. “We are determined to perform again next year. The planning is already in full swing,” Thesing fuels the anticipation of the next session. Some members have left due to old age. But they are in a positive mood to continue to ensure bright eyes and joy at their events.
