The commander of the Rapid Support Forces, Muhammad Hamdan Dagalo (Hemedti), said that he discussed with the Secretary-General of the United Nations, Antonio Guterres, all issues related to the current crisis, in light of the humanitarian truce.
Hamidti added, in a tweet via his Twitter account, that he reviewed with Guterres, during a phone call, the importance of opening safe passages for citizens and residents and facilitating their movement in order to obtain possible assistance.
And the Rapid Support Commander continued: “We stressed the need to adhere to the complete ceasefire and provide protection for humanitarian and medical workers, especially the staff of the United Nations and regional and international organizations.”
Hamidti praised Guterres for his keenness and interest in the security and stability of Sudan, expressing his aspiration for more efforts of the United Nations and its organizations in the humanitarian aspects and the provision of aid in a way that mitigate the negative effects on our people.
