A fire broke out at the Severnaya Verf plant in St. Petersburg. A corvette under construction is on fire, RIA Novosti reports about a reference to representatives of emergency services.
According to preliminary data, we are talking about the ship of the project 20385 “Provorny”. It was launched in 2019 and was being completed at the shipyard. The transfer of the Provorny corvette to the fleet is scheduled for next year.
The area of the fire was 80 square meters, the upper deck is on fire. Information about the victims is contradictory. RIA Novosti, citing representatives of emergency services and shipyard workers, notes that according to preliminary data, there are no victims. At the same time, TASS, citing ambulance data, claims that three people were injured.
