The Government of Tamil Nadu has announced that Pongal special packages will be distributed in ration shops from January 3.
The Tamil Nadu government has already announced that a special package of 21 items will be provided to the people to celebrate the Pongal festival in 2022. It will also include paste, jaggery, cashews, grapes, cardamom, alfalfa, ghee, turmeric powder, chilli powder, coriander, mustard, cumin, pepper, tamarind, chickpeas, pulses, semolina, wheat, salt and whole cane.

In this situation, the Tamil Nadu government has informed that this Pongal special package will be given in the ration shops from January 3. Further, the Government of Tamil Nadu has directed all District Collectors to coordinate and implement this scheme effectively.
