It is expected that transportation through Russia to third countries will not be completely prohibited, however, restrictions are expected to affect several types of technology and equipment.

According to “Bloomberg”, Poland, Estonia and Lithuania demand that the EU completely ban the export of cargo through Russia that can be used by the Russian military-industrial complex, aviation and space industries. The agency does not mention the exact list.

Research by journalists previously found that in several EU countries bordering Russia, the turnover of goods with the countries of Central Asia has increased. Presumably, this may indicate that sanctions are being circumvented by fictitiously sending sanctioned goods to these countries.

As part of the planned package of sanctions, restrictions may be imposed on tankers and cargo ships that hide their coordinates during the voyage, reports “Bloomberg”.

Several investigations indicate that such vessels may be used to circumvent sanctions imposed on Russia and trade in goods exported from the occupied territories of Ukraine.

The new sanctions will affect the Russian State Atomic Energy Corporation “Rosatom” and Russian diamonds, “Radio Free Europe”/”Radio Brīvība” correspondent Rihards Jozvyaks reports, referring to his sources. Poland and the Baltic states insist on such restrictions.
