Dennis Buchner (SPD), the new President of the House of Representatives, visited the grounds on Westfälische Strasse on Thursday, where the “Pears Jewish Campus” (PJC) is being built next to the buildings and the synagogue of the Chabad-Lubavitch community. The campus should be completed in the coming year. Young people from all over the world should find a spiritual home there.

In the approximately 8,000 square meter building there is a daycare center, a primary school and a grammar school. A crèche, a day care center and a family center are in the planning stage.

A co-working space is intended to offer young adults and students a perfect place to work and network. The co-working space offers space for a flexible office that can be used for a few hours, days or even for several months.

The event area in the campus includes rooms of various sizes. According to the Chabad builders, the premises are suitable for private celebrations and as a meeting place for conferences or seminars.

Buchner came at the invitation of Rabbi Yehuda Teichtal from the Jewish community in Berlin. “The Jewish Campus is a cross-religious place for all Berliners,” said Rabbi Teichtal.

The President of the House of Representatives, for whom the visit to Rabbi Teichtal was one of the first official appointments after taking office, said after the tour of the house under construction: “It is an impressive project and an open house for all of society. That is a great benefit for the city of Berlin. ”
