Three-quarters (72 percent) of government supporters feel that by continuing the Russian-Ukrainian war, we risk the outbreak of another world war, a quarter (25 percent) are optimistic and do not consider this a real threat.

More than a third of the opposition voters (39 percent) also consider the risk of a world war to be real, but the majority of them (59 percent) do not think such an escalation of the war is conceivable.

Since Russia and several western countries supplying weapons are considered nuclear powers, and weapons containing depleted uranium have already appeared in the war zone, the deployability of nuclear weapons is also an important issue. The majority of Hungarians (55 percent) believe that there is a risk of the use of nuclear weapons in the continuation of the Russo-Ukrainian war, while 41 percent do not consider this risk to be real.

Those who see the expansion of the Russian-Ukrainian war into a world war as a real danger, a much larger proportion (81 percent) fear the deployment of nuclear weapons, and only 16 percent fear a world war without nuclear weapons. Among those who are not afraid of a global conflict, most (77 percent) are not afraid of the destruction of nuclear weapons either, while 21 percent consider the use of nuclear weapons in a local conflict to be conceivable even without the risk of a world war.
