Bowling in the cuatreada modality returns to Mieres starting this Tuesday with a two-month program of games with the best roscadores in all of Asturias. The Villa de Mieres tournament organized by the Batán bowling club at the Caudal bowling alley will raise the curtain with a duel between the Rozaes (Bimenes) and Manín (Lastres) clubs, which will begin at six in the afternoon.
The tournament reaches its thirty-fifth edition with this and does so with a new format. Each supporters club will put a couple of their players in contention, who will face the opposite supporters club in individual matches at a distance of eight games. In the event that the clubs share the victories in the hand-to-hand duels, a decisive game will be played in pairs at a distance of 6 to determine the winner. If the same club wins both individual games, it will go directly to the next phase.
The competition is part of the program designed by the Batán club on the occasion of its centenary with some succulent economic prizes. The eight best classifieds will distribute 4,000 euros in prizes, of the 1,400 will go to the hands of the champion club.
This Tuesday’s tie will be followed by a second between Contrueces (Gijón) and Sotrondio (San Martín del Rey Aurelio) this Friday. The games would continue to take place in the following weeks with duels every Tuesday and Friday at 6:00 p.m. Next week Turonesa and Morcín will face each other on Tuesday and on Friday Casa Cuqui (Siero) and Prau La Hueria (Laviana) will offer attractive duels.
