He People’s Party de Gandia organized last Saturday at noon an act to open the electoral headquarters on Paseo de les Germanies. A pre-campaign rally was organized in front of this headquarters on the same promenade with interventions by the candidate for mayor, Juan Carlos Moragues, the president of the PPCV and candidate for the Generalitat, Carlos Mazón, and the general secretary of the PP, Cuca Gamarra.

In his speech, Moragues appealed for mobilization and a “useful vote”, because “voting for an option that has no chance of getting a councilor is giving the left and the extreme left a vote”, and because “we cannot lose a single I only vote for those who, with their personalism, want to stop the change and condemn us to another four years of extreme left”. The candidate hopes to get “the absolute majority” and encouraged the mobilization of militants and supporters because “we have it in hand.”

On the other hand, he accused the Socialist Party of “taking out political parties like mushrooms in the center-right political sphere, as always when elections arrive.”

“Gandia is much more than the empty ads of Prieto and the PSOE, it is much more than a network of patronage that has caused many people and groups in this city to feel intimidated and maintain a silence that is already too dangerous,” said Moragues. “When a party has been in power for 36 years, it is a political regime, and that is not good for any city, it is cronyism, political marketing, the search for a captive vote,” he added.

In the opinion of Moragues, “Gandia lives in a permanent state of lethargy, a city stopped before the null management of the PSOE and Prieto, which is the same as Sánchez, generating a misgovernment that only cares about the photo and the image, leaving aside the needs of citizens.

For his part, Carlos Mazón stated that Gandia “needs the infrastructures and endowments commensurate with the great city that it is.” The candidate for the presidency of the Generalitat demanded the completion of the CV-60 and reiterated that the Gandia-Dénia tram “is a priority for the PPCV without giving up the Tren de la Costa”.

Mazón Commitments

Likewise, Mazón indicated that Gandia must be provided with a day center and a new public residence for the elderly, and recalled the citizens’ demand that the Grau de Gandia health center have 24-hour care. Mazón assured that the PPCV “has the team, the ideas, the proposals and the ability to listen to people to ensure that Gandia recovers its potential and a priority role in the Valencian Community”.

On the other hand, Cuca Gamarra criticized initiatives of the Government of Sánchez such as the “law of only yes is yes”, reformed by the PSOE with the support of the PP, or the new housing law. He also referred to the Minister of Science and Innovation, Diana Morant, of whom he said that she “has wanted to put land in the middle and has already completely forgotten about Gandia.”
