Congonhas Airport registered 4.9 million passengers in the first quarter of 2023, which represents an increase of 36% compared to the same period of the previous year, but 12.5% ​​less than the 5.6 million registered in the first quarter of 2019.

In March, there were 1.7 million departures and arrivals, in addition to 19.8 thousand landings and takeoffs.

Demand for air travel is increasing, and Congonhas could once again handle around 20 million passengers, close to the level obtained in 2019.

In the first quarter, the airport was also elected the best regional terminal in Brazil and the fifth in South America.

The Spanish company Aena and ANAC signed the airport concession contract in March and the concessionaire is expected to invest BRL 3.3 billion in improvements over the next three decades.
