Russian fighter jet bombs town in Russia by accident

A Russian fighter jet accidentally bombed the Russian city of Belgorod, about 40 kilometers from the Ukrainian border.

The bomb opened a 20-metre crater and caused an explosion so large that it threw a car onto the roof of a nearby shop.

Regional governor Vyacheslav Gladkov said authorities had ordered the evacuation of a damaged nine-story apartment block as a precaution.
