Cardiovascular disease: prevention is the best medicine
“Focus on Health” on May 3rd
Cardiovascular diseases are responsible for a third of all deaths in Germany. “Every day more than 1000 people die from cardiovascular diseases,” emphasizes Prof. Karlheinz Seidl, Director of the Clinic for Cardiology and Internal Intensive Care Medicine at the Ingolstadt Clinic. Many of them could be avoided: “In addition to the risk factors that cannot be influenced, such as age, gender and genetics, patients themselves have a major influence on their cardiovascular health,” emphasizes Prof. Seidl. An unhealthy diet, little exercise, smoking, diabetes and high blood pressure increase the risk of cardiovascular disease.
How patients can prevent themselves, what a heart-healthy diet looks like and which factors also influence the risk of cardiovascular diseases is explained by Prof. Karlheinz Seidl in his lecture “Prevention is the best medicine” on May 3rd at 5.30 p.m Ingolstadt Clinic. The lecture is the last event of the long-standing chief physician Prof. Seidl at the Ingolstadt Clinic – he will leave the house in the middle of the year.
The event is free of charge and takes place in the large event room Oberbayern in the Klinikum Ingolstadt. Access is via the main entrance. Interested parties can register via the Ingolstadt Clinic website by 3 p.m. on the day of the event at the latest: https://klinikum-ingolstadt.de/kurse/vorbeugen-ist-die-beste-medizin-gesundheit-im-fokus/.
