Anearly a long month of tug of war around the Diakka mine and while the problem is before the courts, the regional governor sounded the end of recess last Monday.

Colonel Robert Soumah brought together all the stakeholders to give the direction that things should now take.
El Simbara Keita the mayor of Balaki came out satisfied:
“…The governor came, there was no controversy, he said that artisanal mining is up to the community and that the prefect has nothing to do with it…”

At the heart of the instance, it was instructed that a watch committee of 6 members be set up with two advisers, two people from Diakka and two others from Nyafou.

A distribution key has been proposed on the following basis:
10% of the revenues to the monitoring committee, 15% for the districts, 25% for the communes, 10% for the FDS and 40% for the prefecture, this last point raised some eyebrows and the commune asked that the distribution between prefecture and commune is reversed.

For his part, the prefect of Mali, Colonel Manson Sangalan Camara estimated that the problem revolved around two angles, in particular the weakness of revenues for the years 2020 and 2021.

For him, it is the mismanagement of the mayor and his family on which weighs a GAP of 12 million CFA francs and 5 billion Guinean francs which pushed him to dismiss the old committee for a new one.
He believes that his hierarchy (governor and Ministry) are aware of his decisions through the reports.

Vindictive, the military prefect named El Simbara Keita to act with his younger brother and his eldest son to divert local wealth.

Asked what answer he gives to people who say he has a hand on the Diakka mine, Manson Sangalan Camara felt that management was never in the hands of the prefect he is.

The prefect of Mali displays a black anger against certain journalists who according to him have been instrumentalized to make war on him.

Colonel Robert Soumah gave a deadline of 10 days for the constitution of the committee which he will ratify in person.
