In the Middle East and Africa, Dubai maintains its status as a safe haven with low tax rates, making it a magnet for millions of immigrants from all over the world, with nearly 3,500 high-net-worth individuals moving to the city in 2022 alone.

The report considered Marrakesh an increasingly popular retirement destination for high-net-worth individuals in Morocco and Europe. The Red City is also home to a thriving luxury real estate and hotel sectors.

Kigali is the economic center of Rwanda and is a thriving technical and financial centre. Notably, Rwanda has been the fastest growing market in Africa over the past decade, both in terms of millionaire growth and overall wealth growth.

And when it comes to the number of millionaires residing, cities in the United States and China dominate the top 10 richest cities in the world, while only one European city, London, makes the 2023 list.

New York City wears the crown as the world’s first city with the most millionaires in 2023, but Hangzhou in China is the fastest growing 100 per cent in the decade.
