The Civil Defense Sub-Committee in Taif Governorate held a meeting today, chaired by His Highness the Governor of Taif, Chairman of the Civil Defense Sub-Committee, His Royal Highness Prince Saud bin Nahar bin Saud, in the presence of the Deputy Governor of Taif, Nasser Al-Subaie, and members of the committee, directors of the concerned government agencies, at the governorate headquarters.

The meeting began with a speech by His Highness the Governor of Taif, stressing the importance of the meetings of the civil defense sub-committees in all regions of the Kingdom, which considers Taif Governorate to be part of this system. He appreciated the efforts made by the government sectors during the rainy conditions that the governorate witnessed. Directed to find urgent solutions and sustainable solutions to ensure that what happened is not repeated.

For his part, the Director of the General Administration of Civil Defense in Taif Governorate, Brigadier General Yasser Al-Sharif, appreciated the efforts of the member government agencies in their actions and measures to confront emergencies.

The meeting discussed the implementation of the general emergency plans of each party, including plans for rain and torrential rains, with each party implementing the tasks and responsibilities mentioned, provided that the concerned authorities ensure the maintenance of culverts and sewers for draining torrents and tunnels, and the preparation of sufficient employment, the necessary equipment and mechanisms such as pumps and suction tanks, and addressing the companies The contractors with it to attend critical sites where there is a lot of water gathering, in order to avoid the dangers resulting from the problems of rainwater collection and to do periodic maintenance for it, and to activate the infringement committees to prevent encroachment on the valleys and to establish dirt soils to reserve water, and to discuss the readiness of the concerned authorities to confront the rainy situation and any emergency that results from it Ensure that representatives of the Emergency Coordination Committee of the General Directorate of Civil Defense attend whenever the situation so requires.

The meeting came out with a number of recommendations, most notably the implementation of general emergency plans for each party, including plans for rain and torrential rain, and the intensification of the presence of the concerned authorities during the rainy situation and their readiness in the event of an advanced warning from the Meteorology and Environmental Protection Authority about the rainy situation, and the removal of all encroachments that occur in the valleys. Inside the residential neighborhoods of the governorate and remove the unstable and falling rocks that are located next to the houses within the residential neighborhoods of the governorate.

At the end of the meeting, His Highness stressed the provision of all services to citizens and residents to protect lives and property.
