Renaissance denied any link with Salime Mdéré, until filing a complaint against the elected representatives of Nupes who had associated him with the presidential party. The call, Monday, of the first vice-president (various center) of the departmental council of Mayotte to “kill” the “thugs”, live on television, sparked an outcry, both on the left and on the part of Renaissance .

“These delinquents, these thugs, these terrorists, at some point we may have to kill them,” said Salime Mdéré on the Outre-mer La Première channel, targeting opponents of the Wuambushu operation against delinquency and unsanitary housing in Mayotte. The elected official, now castigated from all sides, backpedaled on Tuesday, assuring that his words “exceeded (s) thought” and “willingly” presenting his excuses “if they could have offended”.

The Renaissance party immediately condemned, in a press release, “with the greatest firmness the intolerable remarks” of Salime Mdéré. “Everyone must measure the seriousness of these words which are an incitement to murder and violence and can therefore be sanctioned by the laws of the Republic”, underlined the party of the President of the Republic.

“He never got the nomination from our party”

“Contrary to what certain media or personalities have indicated, Mr. Salime Mdéré was not a member of La République En Marche, is not a member of Renaissance, he never obtained the nomination of our party and does not has not granted its sponsorship to the President of the Republic in 2022, “said Renaissance, responding to certain left-wing elected officials who had associated the Mahoran elected official with the presidential party.

On Twitter, the president of Renaissance, Stéphane Séjourné, at the end of the day, denounced the attitude of “unscrupulous elected officials” who “associate Renaissance with despicable remarks made by an elected Mahoran who has never been a member of our party, or even of La République En Marche – and who is a member of a local executive which is fighting the presidential majority. »

“Renaissance will file a complaint for defamation against Éric Piolle, Clémentine Autain, Manuel Bompard, Marie-Pierre de la Gontrie, Mélanie Vogel, Éliane Assassi, Guillaume Gontard and all the people who will continue to spread these false insinuations”, he listed , ensuring that “their tweets and publications are still online and tarnish the honor and reputation of our political family”.

“Unbearable remarks” denounced

“Are the LREM elected officials going to condemn these unbearable remarks by the LREM vice-president of the Mayotte departmental council? asked LFI coordinator Manuel Bompard on Tuesday. The rebellious deputy Clémentine Autain had, on Twitter, denounced “a call for murder assumed by the vice-president LREM of the Mayotte departmental council”. Adding: “With his Wuambushu operation, Darmanin gives free rein to all hatred. Political irresponsibility at the top of the state. »

“An elected LREM from Mayotte and vice-president of the department calls for the direct murder of young Comorians during Operation Wuambushu. Ashamed. This is where the policy of our government leads, ”also reacted the boss of the PCF Fabien Roussel.
