Former Secretary of State and Socialist MP Tony Dreyfus dies

Tony Dreyfus, former Secretary of State in the Rocard government and father of media man Louis Dreyfus, died on Wednesday April 26 at the age of 84.

Member of the Socialist Party, he was deputy from 1997 to 2012, mayor of the 10th arrondissement of Paris from 1995 to 2008 and business lawyer.

Eminent adviser to Michel Rocard

Secretary of State from 1988 to 1991, he was responsible for the social economy. Tony Dreyfus then enjoyed special status “with the Prime Minister”, his friend Michel Rocard, of whom he was one of the most eminent advisers.
