Whe one, Erna sits on the blue bar stool by Pauline Deltour. Simone Uhl’s mixed breed poodle lady would never have dreamed of landing on the cover of a magazine. Erna was found in a garbage can in Croatia, reports Uhl, who Erna adopted through the organization “Croatian Paws in Need”. At the end of September, the two of them were photographed by our photographer Lucas Bäuml for our design shoot in Frankfurt – and promptly made it onto the front page.
Simone Uhl and Erna weren’t the only ones Bäuml photographed for the cover. In October he also photographed Julia, Elena and Lara, who have a polyamorous relationship and with whom we spoke about the question of how many people one can love. A few days later our photographer had a sea bass in front of his lens in the Munich restaurant “Tantris DNA” – it wasn’t quite as lively, but it makes you want more, just like the cover with Soyeon Schröder-Kim, photographed by Daniel Pilar: We were allowed to look over her shoulder while cooking.
With soccer player David Alaba and rapper Marteria, two other prominent faces also graced our front page. By the way, behind the hair on the February issue is Marni designer Francesco Risso, while we took the July title on a journey into the past: It shows the torch-bearer Tanaka on one of the four official posters for the 1964 Olympic Games in Tokyo.
