Karachi: 12 killed as LPG cylinders explode in Pakistan. Several people were injured. The bomber struck shortly after noon in front of a bank building in the area. The doors and windows of the building were smashed. The wreckage of the explosion was scattered over a long distance.

Cars and bikes parked near the building were damaged. Provincial police said a bomb squad arrived at the scene and began an investigation. But the general conclusion is that the gas leak itself was the cause of the explosion. Police said 12 people were killed and 13 were seriously injured. The use of counterfeit gas cylinders for cooking and use in cars is a regular occurrence in Pakistan. This is how the explosion is checked.

Karachi has a bad reputation for lagging behind in infrastructure development, poor construction practices and poor municipal services. But 60 per cent of Pakistan’s economic growth comes from this city.
