Thiruvananthapuram: A gang that lured students into pornography has been arrested. The arrested Ashok Pattidar, Nilesh Pattidar and Vallabh Pattidar are from Rajasthan. The Thiruvananthapuram City Cyber Police nabbed the accused while they were in Rajasthan. The police team was caught on the complaint of a student from Thiruvananthapuram. Many students from Kerala had fallen into their trap.
A student from Thiruvananthapuram lost Rs 10 lakh after falling into the obscene trap of a gang. According to his complaint, a team of City Cyber Police went to Rajasthan in search of the accused. Their mobile phones were tracked as part of the police investigation following the receipt of the complaint. Police had identified it as being in Rajasthan.
The gang started the scam by sending pop-up messages to the laptops and mobiles of male students attending an online class. There will be a link with the obscene messages. Students who fall into their trap will chat. The group also sends pornographic images of women and girls.
After making friends with the students within a few days, he was called from the CBI’s cyber cell. It’s threatening to give the details of the chat to the media. Then you will be asked for money. The money has to be sent to the wallets provided by them. It is reported that many people have lost money in this way.
The wallets and mobile numbers used in the scam were identified as belonging to Rajasthan. The Thiruvananthapuram City Cyber Police team then proceeded to Rajasthan. A team comprising Assistant Commissioner Shyam Lal, officials Shibu, Sunil Kumar and Vipin Bhaskar left for Rajasthan. The accused were nabbed with the help of Jodhpur Commissioner Josmon IPS, a Malayalee.
