In order to combat the Aedes aegypti mosquito diseases that transmit dengue, Zika and chikungunya, more than 6,000 public employees have been mobilized to combat this disease.

“We have a 59% reduction in suspected dengue cases, we remind the population that we are not holding conferences once a year -which was usual before- but all year round for vector control and comprehensive actions to identify any possible acute febrile case that could correspond to an arbovirosis and we are having good results”, affirmed the Minister of Health, Francisco Alabi.

With these strategies, the Government has intensified the tasks of fumigation and eradication of water-accumulating objects, due to the approach of winter and the first rains.

“What it means is that dengue is highly controlled due to the good management that has been done through the vision of President Bukele and the tools that are still being developed. It is not the same to go to the house of the mosquito one week a year and more than when the rainy season begins, to have all the first level of attention underpinning the strategies to control this vector”, affirmed Alabi.

In addition, hospitals have the minimum number of patients due to any complication derived from dengue, quite the opposite, compared to previous years, when there were many deaths and injuries, including neurological ones.
