Women aged 50 to 75 who live in the postcode areas 6461 AA-BG, 6461 BI-BR, 6461 CA-ZZ, 6462 will receive an invitation.

The research is being carried out in the mobile research center at Hertogenlaan 29, on the parking strip corner Ailbertuslaan-Hertogenlaan, in front of the entrance to the Albert Heijn. This is a different location than previous times.

Breast cancer is one of the most common cancers in the Netherlands. About one in seven women in the Netherlands will develop breast cancer. Detecting the disease at an early stage significantly increases the chance of a cure. That is why the population study was created. As a result of the population screening, between 850 and 1075 fewer women die from breast cancer each year.

Population survey

The population screening is for people aged 50 to 75 years. Once every two years, they receive a written invitation for the breast cancer screening programme. The examination consists of taking X-rays of the breasts. The survey is voluntary and free.
