East Azerbaijan police announced that 7 workplaces were sealed and 9 cars were confiscated in East Azerbaijan province.

According to the information published by the Iranian media, the commander of East Azerbaijan Police Huseyn Abdi said that 7 workplaces were sealed and 9 cars were confiscated as part of the “plan to fight against hijab violations” in the province.

Abdi also told Iranian media that warning texts have been sent to hundreds of car owners who don’t follow hijab rules since the beginning of the plan to combat hijablessness.

The Iranian government has started warning car owners to fight against women who do not follow the rules of head covering in cars.

The East Azerbaijan Police Commander also announced that police forces visited more than 1,300 workplaces and sent SMS messages to the phones of 65 workplace owners.

Iran’s police chief previously stated that the plan to combat those who do not follow the hijab rules will be implemented from April 15 through surveillance cameras in the cities.

Iranian police say that they will fight against the hijab in cities with surveillance equipment and that there is no physical confrontation in this plan.

The death of a young woman named Mahsa Amini on September 16 as a result of the violence of these forces after she was arrested by the morality police for not following the mandatory hijab rules resulted in continuous protests against the government in Iran for more than 3 months.
