Hacking into the “Traveler” website: The hackers will try to sell names, passwords and emails

by time news

An unidentified assailant group called Sharp Boys opened a telegram page claiming that it had hacked into the Israeli sites “Lamtayel” and “Tolii” (owned by “Lamtayel”). According to the attack group, there is 500GB of information offered for sale, including names, emails, phone numbers and passwords. For the information they ask for a sum of 300 thousand dollars.

For the time being, the “Traveler” and “Hiking” sites have collapsed and cannot be accessed. The “Traveler” company stated that they identified suspicious traffic on the site – and therefore decided to take the site off the air. They are now examining if there is any damage and they are continuing with the tests.

Alex Steinberg, product manager at information security company ESET Israel, notes that “in order to negotiate the information they obtained, the hackers opened a dedicated group on Telegram. From the group it seems that so far they have obtained names, passwords and emails. With details such as emails and passwords, they can also try to access other users’ services, such as their social networks, payment apps, etc. This is one of the reasons we keep saying that every service should have unique connection details, “he said.
