The Ministry of Health, represented by the Health Virtual Hospital and the Innovation Empowerment Center, won the Digital Government Award for the best use of emerging technologies in the field of digital transformation, which is allocated to distinguished government agencies.

This came during the Digital Government Forum in its first edition, which comes under the slogan “Towards a Promising Digital Horizon” in Riyadh.

The Ministry, represented by the virtual hospital, made distinguished efforts to provide virtual health care services and facilitate procedures for access to them, as the virtual hospital is one of the priority initiatives in the health transformation program.

Features of the Virtual Health Hospital

The Virtual Health Hospital is the first of its kind in the Middle East and North Africa, and the largest in the world in terms of the number of associated hospitals, with more than 152 hospitals.

He performed about 13 remote heart surgeries, and the medical intervention rate for stroke reached about 33 minutes, and it also helped reduce the hospitalization of heart failure patients by up to 40%.

Visit of the International Monetary Fund mission

The International Monetary Fund mission visited the Virtual Health Hospital, at the hospital’s headquarters in the Digital City in Riyadh, on March 13 of this year.

The mission was briefed on the virtual health services provided by the hospital remotely, through a health bridge that provides distinguished services through doctors with expertise in subspecialties.

The Virtual Health Hospital is among the priority initiatives of the health sector transformation program within the objectives of “Saudi Vision 2030”, to enhance the culture of virtual medicine in health authorities, and to provide the best virtual health services at the national and global levels.
