The minimum insurance income of agricultural producers, tobacco producers and self-insured persons to increase from BGN 710 to BGN 780 from June 1. This is laid down in the draft Law on the budget of the state social insurance for 2023which was approved today by the government.

The average pension in 2023 will reach BGN 788.10, and according to the project from July 1, all pensions will increase by 12%. Thus, the minimum pension will become BGN 523.04, and the maximum will remain at BGN 3,400. The social pension for old age will increase to BGN 276.64.

In 2023, nearly BGN 19.2 billion is planned for the payment of all types of pensions and supplements. The total amount of planned expenditures for pensions, short-term benefits and social security services for 2023 is nearly BGN 21.8 billion.

No changes are foreseen to the amounts of allowances for raising a child up to 2 years of age and for raising a child up to 8 years of age by the father (adoptive parent), which are BGN 710 each. The minimum and maximum daily amount of the allowance are also maintained for unemployment.

The draft law ensures that all pensioners who have been granted foreign aid by an expert decision, regardless of the percentage of permanently reduced working capacity/type and degree of disability, have the right to a foreign aid supplement.

It is planned that the costs of the prevention and rehabilitation program will increase by BGN 3.2 million, which will allow an additional 5,000 workers to benefit from it.
