The Government of Pedro Sánchez will be represented this Tuesday in the traditional celebrations of the festivity of Dos de Mayo, day of the Community of Madrid, at the Puerta del Sol in the capital. The spokesperson for the Executive, Isabel Rodríguez, has confirmed this Monday that a member of the Council of Ministers will attend the events organized by the Government of the Madrid president, Isabel Díaz Ayuso. Predictably, it will be the Minister of the Presidency, Félix Bolaños, who will attend with the Minister of Defense, Margarita Robles. But the presence of the former is not well regarded by the Ayuso team, as the Madrid PP stressed over the weekend.

In statements to the press during the demonstration on May 1 in Puertollano (Ciudad Real), Rodríguez confirmed that the Government will be in Sol on May 2 “as has happened in previous years”, with the aim of covering the citizens of Madrid in his day.
But the PP in Madrid has already demonstrated on several occasions against the assistance of the Minister of the Presidency. The candidate for the Madrid Assembly, Jesús Moreno, described on Sunday as a “provocation” what he considered a “self-invitation” by Bolaños to Dos de Mayo, while the campaign spokesman for the Municipal Group, Borja Carabante, considered that “we must have very little shame to attend an institutional act to which they have not been invited”.
The Community of Madrid has not invited the President of the Government, Pedro Sánchez, to the traditional event, who did not attend the last meeting and has only extended an invitation to the Minister of Territorial Policy and Government spokesperson, Isabel Rodríguez, who has “the competences in relation to the autonomous communities”, as reported by Europa Press. The central Executive has announced that it will be the new government delegate, Francisco Martín, who will attend along with the Minister of the Presidency, Relations with the Courts and Democratic Memory, Félix Bolaños, and the Minister of Defense, Margarita Robles.
The celebration of the Day of the Community of Madrid will begin at 10:00 a.m. this Tuesday with the floral offering of the Madrid leader to the Heroes of Dos de Mayo, in the Florida cemetery. Ayuso will place a laurel wreath there before the tombstone and will attend the surrender of honors by the War Band and the Honors section and a Squad of Spendadores from the Anti-aircraft Artillery Regiment.
At 11:00 a.m., the celebration will move to the headquarters of the regional Presidency for the delivery of the Community Medal and the decorations of the Order of Dos de Mayo, in a ceremony presided over by Ayuso and before some 800 guests.
