Indra makes the launch of its US subsidiary official

Indra has made official this Monday, May 1, the launch of its US subsidiary Indra Air Traffic Inc. with a presentation event that took place in Overland Park (Kansas, USA) which marks the start-up of the activity of the new company integrated into its Air Traffic Management (ATM) business.

As reported by the company, the event was attended by the Senator from Kansas, Jerry Moran; State Congresswoman Sharice Davids; Kansas Under Secretary of Commerce Paul Hughes; and Overland Park City Council President Jim Kite. On behalf of Indra, the director of ATM business Strategy, Ramón Tarrech, and the general director of Indra Air Traffic Inc, Bill Colligan, who acted as master of ceremonies, participated. Furthermore, they have been invited to the celebrations the more than 100 professionals who will work in the new company.

Indra explained that, after acquiring the air traffic business line of Selex ES, focused on air navigation aid systems, and converting it into a new company of its air traffic business, the company is now landing in the United States with the with the objective of putting its portfolio of products and services, as well as its experience of more than four decades in the ATM business, at the service of the next renovation of the country’s air infrastructures.

Indra’s ATM Strategy Director, Ramón Tarrech, highlighted during his speech at the launch event that “The United States is one of the largest national airspaces in the world and its ATM business has great growth potential”. “Strengthening our presence and activity in the country opens up enormous opportunities for us, will help us complete our leadership in the sector on a global scale and will allow us to introduce internationally proven cutting-edge technology in a country with a clearly innovative DNA,” he pointed out.

For his part, Bill Colligan, CEO of Indra Air Traffic Inc., pointed out that “becoming part of Indra, a world leading company in the sector, will help us strengthen our portfolio and offer a comprehensive service to our customers”. In his opinion, “Indra is the only company in the world that has its own technology that covers all segments of the industry and is capable of fully managing a flight in all its stages.”

From the company they emphasize that its subsidiary in the United States was born with a hundred professionals and a production plant in Overland Park, Kansas. At these facilities, Indra is going to create a center of excellence for air navigation aid systems (NAVAIDS), from which it will serve customers in the US and the rest of the world, and which will be the starting point for the development of an industrial plan that aims to incorporate and market other products from Indra’s portfolio and add new capabilities.
