The Californian woman has also found Louis Vuitton pieces in trash cans.
It’s not even a year since the Californian Veronica Taylor started dumpster diving. Inspection of waste containers started as a hobby and is now a profitable job for him – writes a Mirror.
The 32-year-old woman is a friend living in Pennsylvania, Liz Wilson introduced him to treasure hunting, since then Taylor has moved in with him, and now they devote all their time to this activity. They drive from town to town to discover new deposits, regularly returning at night to the places that produce the best results.
Taylor says she loves doing it because she gets to hang out with her best friend while they make a living finding all kinds of things. For example, branded items: they have come across Louis Vuitton and Michael Kors items during their searches – according to the dumpster diver, the sellers in some second-hand clothing stores are not necessarily aware of what branded items are thrown in the bin.
Some of the food and cosmetics are given to charities and the homeless, and the more valuable items are sold at online auctions. Each item starts at $1, and occasionally hundreds of items are sold.
Buyers can bid on the items, and since they are found objects, the Taylors can’t lose even after accepting the lowest bid.
