Watan Al-Youm: The Ministry of Education stated that it is preparing to implement the international study in science and mathematics, after a meeting held on Tuesday, chaired by the Secretary-General of the Ministry of Education for Educational Affairs, Nawaf Al-Ajarmah.
Al-Ajarmah said that it is necessary to raise the pace of preparation by providing requirements, intensifying field visits to schools participating in the test, and holding enrichment meetings with each other, with the aim of disseminating success stories and exchanging ideas to overcome difficulties and enhance positive aspects.
He pointed out that the test enjoys close follow-up, as its results are an important indicator of the educational process and its development, and that preparations are reflected in the classroom, which raises students’ readiness for the test by exposing them to models of questions similar to the test questions. For his part, the head of the National Center for Human Resources Development, Dr. Abdullah Ababneh, confirmed that Jordan has sufficient experience that qualifies it for positive participation, which guarantees better results compared to previous participations.
He added that the results of the students in this study are among the indicators of the quality of the Jordanian educational process and its comparison with the level of the countries participating in this study. .
According to what was stated in the Education Statement, the study aims to periodically measure the level of progress in academic achievement in mathematics and science for students in the fourth and eighth grades, and the duration of its session is four years.
It is noteworthy that the Examination of Excellence is a global test conducted under the supervision of the International Association for the Evaluation of Educational Achievement based in Amsterdam, the Netherlands, the Canadian Statistics Center, and the Data Processing Center in Hamburg, Germany.
