The Home Front Command application activated the alert for open areas only. The rocket attack sparked criticism about the Israeli deterrence, and ministers demanded a meaningful response from Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. This evening (Tuesday) an alert was activated in Kibbutz Kissufim. Therefore, the IDF spokesman said: “Following the report of the activation of the alert, one launch from the Gaza Strip into Israeli territory was detected that fell in an open area. No interceptors were launched according to policy.”

Earlier, the IDF spokesman stated that “six mortar launches were detected in the last hour from the Gaza Strip into Israeli territory, some of them failed launches that landed in the Gaza Strip and some landed near the perimeter fence in Israeli territory. An alert was activated in the Home Front Command application in open areas only.”

The rocket barrage rekindled criticism of the extent of Israeli deterrence. Ministers demanded that Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu respond in a meaningful way this time.
