Travel agencies demanded, this Saturday, April 29, respect for the quota for the distribution of pilgrims between the agencies of the private sector. In violation of the specifications which required at least 20 pilgrims to the travel structures in the standards, these were allocated 8, 10, 12 or even 16 pilgrims, protest the victim agencies.

Feeling wronged in the distribution of the quota of Malian pilgrims, travel agencies grouped together in a collective of 57 members hosted a press conference on April 29. In addition to the agencies excluded from the distribution, it is made up of those that did not obtain the minimum quota.
The objective of this media outing hosted by the coordinator of the said collective, Adama SOGODOGO, was to challenge the authorities on respect for the texts of the organization of Hajj.
The speaker affirmed that the process of distribution of the 11,323 pilgrims reserved for the private sector took place in an opaque way for having violated the specifications and the decree on the organization of the Hajj.
Denouncing the breach of the law, the speaker brandished article 5 of the specifications fixing the distribution of pilgrims between private sector agencies. This provision, which he quoted, stipulates: “20 pilgrims at least and 600 at most per travel agency; 300 pilgrims at least and 600 at most per agency or group of travel agencies”.
This requirement enacted by the House of Hadj is cheerfully violated by itself in collusion with the distribution commission, denounced the speaker, specifying that of the 330 agencies whose files met the specifications, more than twenty n have not obtained the minimum threshold.
“Agencies have been assigned 8, 12, 15 or even 16 pilgrims”, denounced Mr. SOGODOGO, challenging their detractor to prove that the quota was respected.
“We are not against anyone or against a group. We just want the quota to be respected. We hope that the distribution must be resumed so that the agencies are put in their right, “claimed the speaker.
Failing to resume, he asked that the House of Hajj return to better feelings and distribute the remaining 800 pilgrims to benefit the agencies which are deprived of their rights.
Where is the problem ? Why does the House of Hajj jealously guard this number? he wonders.
“Whatever the number of the collective, we will fight this fight until the end. It is a struggle for our survival,” said the coordinator, adding that it is impossible to organize the trip with less than 20 pilgrims.
By this practice, they want to force the agencies to sell their quota to others, interpreted MM SOGODOGO. Otherwise, he argued, “we are not coxers or quota sellers.”
On the contrary, added the speaker, it is the attitude of the House of Hajj which is similar to this unhealthy practice.
“There are agencies that have been banned by Saudi Arabia. But they continue to benefit dozens of pilgrims under another name,” decried the coordinator of the collective.
Also, he accused the House of Hadj of pocketing money from agencies often without a receipt or stamp.
“It is time for the mafia at the House of Hadj to stop,” he said.
Also, he returned to the situation of the agencies whose files were not retained.
“They have been unjustly sidelined by members of the allocation commission who are also promoters of agencies”, affirmed the speaker.
The problem, according to him, is that this commission is judge and judged.
