During the biweekly meeting with members of the Legal and Expanded Cabinet, Governor Rutilio Escandón Cadenas reiterated his government’s firm commitment to continue serving the citizenry, under the principles of austerity and honesty, for which he made a specific appeal to his collaborators and collaborators to maintain that attitude of responsibility in the management of the public budget, according to the development plan.

“It is essential that the corresponding information is provided so that we are very well in our actions. That gives us a guarantee to continue working and the Federation takes us into account for the resources that are needed to attend to important actions in favor of the well-being of the Chiapanecos ”, he affirmed.

In this line, he celebrated that more and more Chiapas has made positive progress in various areas; Proof of this, he said, is in terms of health in view of the containment and control of the COVID-19 pandemic, since to date the cases of infection have decreased and there are no hospitalized people or deaths, thanks to the fact that the people it takes care of itself and is resilient, coupled with the work that the heroes in white coats continue to carry out through house-to-house brigades.

“We have fought head-on this dangerous virus that causes very serious diseases. We hope that the Chiapas model, as expressed by the Pan American Health Organization, is taken into account to standardize all the health criteria that help combat this disease, and that a pandemic becomes an endemic treatment,” he said. .

In terms of sports, he specified, this sector continues to be encouraged with better infrastructure and support to motivate the general population, especially children and youth, to practice any physical activity that keeps them healthy. “Sport is health prevention and allows us to have a better quality of life in every way.”

At another time, Escandón Cadenas announced that the Third International Coffee Festival will be held, which, he said, has been a successful event in which more and more producers of the aromatic grain participate. “I am sure that this initiative, which was born in this government, will remain permanently to continue promoting this agricultural activity and positioning Chiapas as the largest producer of quality coffee in the country.”

In this regard, the Secretary of Agriculture, Livestock and Fisheries, Zaynia Andrea Gil Vázquez, stressed that said event, which aims to consolidate itself as a cultural heritage of the state, has the objective of positioning Chiapas coffee as one of the most recognized in the world; She explained that it will take place at the City Café facilities, from May 25 to 28.

He announced that there will be the State Agri-Food Pavilion where more than 90 stands from more than 50 municipalities will be located, with primary products from all over the state such as ataulfo ​​mango, banana, mojarra, handicrafts, textiles, among others. He added that there will be the presence of ambassadors and agricultural advisors from different nations, with whom they seek to generate commercial links.

Likewise, he explained, cultural and artistic activities are also contemplated, such as La Gran Vuelta City Café, for cycling lovers; the 1st Pedestrian Race, which at the moment has registered 2,500 attendees; the 2nd Barista Championship; and the Children’s Drawing Contest, among others.

For his part, the Secretary of Health, José Manuel Cruz Castellanos, explained that regarding COVID-19, Chiapas registers more than a year and a month without any deaths from this disease, it maintains the lowest rate of infections, and explained that the entity has 81 percent of the population vaccinated.

After reiterating the call to the population to avoid fires, since they are generators of diseases, Cruz Castellanos said that the rainy season is about to start, for which he urged to clean patios to prevent the proliferation of the dengue mosquito and other vectors.

Finally, the general director of the Institute of Sport, Tania Valeria Robles Velázquez, mentioned that this unit joins the efforts to maintain the Sumidero Canyon as a tourist attraction to the world, for this reason she announced that, after 14 years of not being held On Sunday, May 7, the High Diving exhibition will take place in Chiapa de Corzo, where nine divers who are preparing for the World Cup in Japan will be presented, and which will be attended by the Olympic medalist Fernando Platas.
