Sudan – Seven-day ceasefire comes into effect – Sudan

Khartoum – A seven-day ceasefire is due to come into force in embattled Sudan this Thursday. The leaders of the government troops and their rival paramilitaries had agreed on this. Since the start of the bloody conflict in mid-April, ceasefires of up to 72 hours have been negotiated, but have repeatedly been broken. A real ceasefire was not actually observed by either side.
