Leni Klum turns 19 today
On May 4, 2004, Leni Klum became the daughter of supermodel Heidi Klum and Formula 1 manager Flavio Briatore were born in New York. By then, however, her parents were no longer a couple.
Heidi fell in love with British singer Seal while she was still pregnant. The two married in 2005, and Seal adopted Leni four years later. Her Nigerian middle name, Olumi, is said to evoke her stepfather’s African roots.
She has three younger half-siblings from Heidi’s marriage to Seal, and one younger half-brother from her father’s.
Leni has both German and American citizenship. According to her own statement, however, she cannot imagine living in Germany one day. The reason: she doesn’t like the food!
The Klum scion knew early on that she wanted to be a model like her mom. She received her first model offer at the age of twelve. She would have liked to have accepted this back then, but Mama Heidi thought it was too early.
At the age of 16, Leni finally started her career as a model. She made her debut with her mother on the cover of German Vogue.
Since then, the newcomer model has been able to get a few jobs. In 2021 she opened the Berlin Fashion Week with her catwalk debut and has since advertised well-known brands such as Dior, intimissimi and About You.
