“Minister of Health Launches Mobile Infectious Diseases Unit of Third Level Biological Safety to Monitor and Diagnose High-Risk Diseases for Enhanced Health Security and Readiness in Saudi Arabia”

The Minister of Health, Professor Fahd Al-Jalajel, launched the Mobile Infectious Diseases Unit of the third level of biological safety, to contribute to monitoring and diagnosing high-risk infectious diseases.

The Public Health Authority “Prevention”, which is headed by the Minister of Health, stated that the unit, which was launched yesterday (Wednesday); It provides a system of mobile laboratories that includes all the equipment, technologies and systems necessary for operation, that meet international standards and requirements for biosecurity and safety, emphasizing the competence of all health personnel working in them, as they have been trained in advanced international centers in the field of high containment laboratories.

The authority indicated that the unit will contribute to raising the Kingdom’s readiness to monitor epidemic diseases, in addition to enhancing health security, which comes in the context of the authority’s efforts to achieve one of the strategic objectives of the health sector transformation program, “enhancing prevention of health risks.”
