The Pro-Rectory of Institutional and International Relations (Prointer) released, this Thursday (4), the final result of the analysis of school records, after appeals, and the consequent call for tests of the Selection Process for International Students – PSEI 2023, from the University of International Integration of Afro-Brazilian Lusofonia (Unilab). In all, 2,185 candidates from Angola, Cape Verde, Guinea-Bissau, Mozambique, São Tomé and Príncipe and East Timor are being invited.

According to Public Notice Prointer nº 004/2023, candidates classified as up to 8 (eight) times the number of vacancies offered, per course (1st option). Among the candidates with a deferred record, the call considers the descending sort order generated by the Secondary Education Note (NES). In case the number of deferred candidates is greater than the number of vacancies offered to each country multiplied by 8, the NES is knockout (item 6.1.1 of the notice).

Check out how the result and the summons look in each country:

The tests will be applied during the period of May 15th to 20th. The specific dates in each country, the locations and times will be confirmed by the Brazilian Embassies and published on the Prointer website and on the Unilab portal.

Why wasn’t I summoned if my transcript was deferred?

The fact that the transcript is considered deferred means that it complies with what was requested by the public notice, but this does not guarantee access to the next stage of selection, which are the tests.

The deferred record generates the candidate for Secondary Education Grade (NES), which is the arithmetic mean of the sum of the individual grades of the subjects studied, in each of the last three years of Secondary/High School (item 6.2.2.4 of the announcement). From the Secondary Education Grade (NES), candidates are classified in descending order, that is, from the highest grade to the lowest.

How is it defined who will be called or not for the tests?

Let’s understand with a practical example: for the Public Administration course, 3 vacancies were offered for Angola. So 8 times that number of vacancies will be called, that is, 24 candidates (3 vacancies x 8).

Therefore, in the classification ranking of Angolans for the Public Administration course, the first 24 candidates on the list will be called, according to their grades. The other candidates are eliminated.

Angola’s call list brings together candidates from all classified courses as explained above.

The same is done with the other courses and countries.
