Migration Colombia suspended the reception of flights of migrants deported from the United States for cruel and degrading treatment.
The Colombian immigration authority denounced that Colombian migrants deported from the United States they are receiving “cruel and degrading” treatment, for which reason it announced on Thursday in a statement that it provisionally suspended the reception of flights with nationals deported from that country.
The communication of Colombian Migration is known after the United States Department of Security would have decided to cancel two flights scheduled for this week with approximately 1,200 migrants returned from the United States. The itineraries were part of a pilot plan that was suspended.
According to Colombia’s statement, there was a “Failure to comply with the agreements on the humanitarian treatment of returned Colombians”. The Colombian immigration authority says that the Americans they are handcuffing migrants hand and foot, “even women mothers of families”.
