Geneva: The United Nations on Friday convened a special meeting in connection with the CCW agreement on what steps can be taken to control and ban free-thinking attack robots, drones, guns and bombs. The meeting in Geneva was attended by experts in the fields of artificial intelligence, military strategy, human rights and disarmament, as well as representatives from countries including India. At the same time, the United States and Russia are at the forefront of robot construction
He was adamant that the ban should not be lifted. Therefore, the UN issued a vague statement after the meeting. The statement said that it would try to bring in restrictions in a way that would interest everyone.
CCW Agreement
This is an agreement to control conventional weapons that can cause excessive injuries and extensive damage. The agreement has been signed by 125 countries, including India. Killer robots are not included in the agreement because they are new technology. That is why the special meeting was convened.
Killer robots
Killer robots are weapons known as lethal autonomous weapons system. For some weapons it is enough to give very few instructions. Developments in the fields of artificial intelligence, robotics, and image recognition have led to an increase in the capabilities of killer robots. The drones used by the US in Afghanistan and Iraq are not like this. They select and attack targets based on instructions from the U.S. military. There are also reports that some countries use killer robots in real wars.

The main argument of the critics is that robots should not be used in war. The robot may not be able to recognize children and adults. Robots can view the surrender and the wounded as enemies
Human Rights Watch and the Harvard Law School have called for the passage of a law requiring humans to control robots.
