BOLZANO. Free nasal tests from tomorrow (May 5) at the pharmacy in South Tyrol. This is foreseen by the agreement between the Province of Bolzano, the health authority, the municipalities and South Tyrolean pharmacies (public and private), a way to enhance the supply of tampons and therefore give the whole population (and those who arrive from outside) to test themselves, reduce the chain of contagion from Covid and naturally obtain the Corona Pass necessary in South Tyrol to access the premises but also to cultural events and places.
To date – it was recalled at the press conference – there are already 129 test stations throughout the province where citizens can be tested. With the help of the pharmacies there will be a further offer.
Every citizen will be able to take advantage of these tests at regular intervals, but no more than twice a week.
Almost all South Tyrolean pharmacies will offer nasal tests. The results will be entered into the computer system of the South Tyrolean Health Authority – just like the test stations set up in the municipalities – and sent via e-mail and text message to the persons tested.
The President of Federfarma Alto Adige Matteo Bonvicini recommends contact your trusted pharmacy to clarify when it is possible to have an appointment within the next few days. Later, reservations will be possible through the reservation system of the Healthcare Company of South Tyrol.
The provincial health councilor Thomas Widmann: “The strategy of capillary tests throughout the provincial territory is a central pillar in the fight against the pandemic. Thanks to regular tests we have the possibility of effectively preventing any outbreaks of infection. It is therefore important to facilitate and further expand accessibility to testing and, in this sense, partnership with municipalities and pharmacies is essential. ”
The Director General of the Healthcare Company Florian Zerzer he added: “We can only win the fight against the pandemic together. Thanks to the collaboration between municipalities, pharmacies and the health authority, it was possible to create an additional offer of free and low-threshold tests for the population, which meets the needs of citizens” .
Per Andreas Schatzer, president of the Consortium of Municipalities of South Tyrol, “the municipalities will support local pharmacies to the best of their ability both in terms of administration and supply of premises. In this way, we will be able to create a test offer available every day and for the whole week “.
