The Princess of Wales, Kate Middleton, traded her tiaras for a flower crown for the coronation of King Carlos III at Westminster Abbey. Kate wore a long Alexander McQueen dress made of ivory-tone crepe fabric under its blue and red gala cape. The dress was embroidered with roses, thistles, daffodils and shamrocks representing the four nations of the United Kingdom. this is how the magazine reviewed it Vogue
The curious thing is that those same flowers appeared in the wedding dress worn by the princess in 2011, also designed by Sarah Burton.
As is already tradition in royalty, Kate Middleton opted for a couple of significant pearl earrings y diamonds which previously belonged to the Princess Diana. Kate Middleton has worn them numerous times in the past, including an official event in 2022 and the BAFTA Awards in 2019.
The reigning Princess of Wales has mastered the art of symbolic dress over the years, this was most evident when she wore looks in red, white and blue (her nation’s colours) in the final days before her coronation.
