Alappuzha: A youth was hacked to death in a clash between goons at Aryat Kaitham. The victim was identified as Vimal, a native of Aryaat. His head and leg were injured. Police said the goonda leader was Temper Binu.
Police said personal animosity was behind the attack. Vimal had attacked Binu’s brother three months ago. Indications are that revenge led to the attack.
Tensions were high in the district following the assassinations of BJP and SDPI leaders. Following this, a ban was announced yesterday and today. The bomber struck shortly after noon in front of a police station in the district.
